Del Camino Connection

Support the Ministry of Del Camino Connection

DCC exists to serve and support national church-based networks and accompany churches committed to the practice of integral mission. Like many organizations, we rely on the generous gifts of individuals and churches to financially sustain our organization. We value simplicity and efficiency and strive to keep our costs as low as possible.

Raising our operating budget separately allows us to channel 100% of project grants and network support to our partners in Latin America. Please consider becoming a DCC Advocate by signing up as a monthly supporter. Click here to download a PDF with more information.

We know you understand the strategic nature of DCC. Thank you for all the ways you have supported us in the past. Right now, we need people who will journey with us by setting up a recurring monthly gift. You are a part of God's mission to make all things new!

Del Camino Connection

For those of you that would like to give above and beyond an initial investment in DCC, we have featured a few giving opportunities below. This list represents people with names and faces connected to church-based initiatives from the RdC network who are bringing hope and possibility for new life to many individuals, families and communities around Latin America. The authentic relational ties we have with one another ensures that 100% of your gift will be received by the churches listed below.

1. Red del Camino Network Support

In order to be able to intentionally connect and gather together inspiring wholistic churches we need your investment  to lower the costs of materials, transportation, and housing. Please consider supporting a particular network.

In particular, the Costa Rican Network is in the final phases of organizing their 11th Annual National Gathering set for the end of September. This three day event costs over $150 dollars per person.  The Network needs your support to be able to subsidize 50% of the cost.

2. Iglesia Nazarena Vision Celestial

Los Alcarrizos, Dominican Republic

Pastor Ernesto Bathermy and the community of Vision Celestial have touched thousands of lives through their integral child development program that they run in partnership with Compassion international. They have also improved the health and local economy through their recent inauguration of a water purification plant achieved in partnership with Healing Waters DR and Hillside Covenant church. This summer they were confronted with the reality of having to leave the current rented facility that they use for the children's program due to a rent increase that make it impossible to continue there.

After constructing the facility behind their church building for the water treatment plant, they continued to replace their tin roof with a poured concrete roof. Because of careful administration of funds and additional local fund raising they were able to stretch that project to begin building a second floor!

With the current situation of the rental facility and the nearly complete second floor, the church hopes to move the children's ministry to their own property by completing this second story.

In order to do so they need $13,000 to pour the roof, and finish the interior with electrical, plumbing, windows, internal walls and floors.

We are asking our partners to consider investing in Vision Celestial so that they can begin the 2010-2011 school year in their own facility! Download a PDF to learn more about the ministry of Vision Celestial.

3. Haiti Earthquake Relief Efforts

Haitian Earthquake

Our Strategy:

A devastating earthquake leveled the city of Port-au-Prince in early January. Churches from the RdC DR, in coordination with partner organizations in the DR, led efforts to supply the need to Haitians affected by the devastating earthquake. Please click here to read more about our response to the earthquake.

Because of Your Generosity...

The outpouring of love through your financial support and concern that friends from around the world showed for our Hatian brothers and sisters was inspiring. Haitian EarthquakeTHANK YOU for responding so generously in the face of terrible tragedy.  We are proud to be a part of God's Kingdom movement to make all things new.

Total Investment: $147,502

Total Impact: Over 6,576  families (33,250 individuals) provided with food, water, and/or shelter through the involvement of over 55 local churches.

Medical Facilities: Over 6 medical centers were established with locally donated medicines.  The Network sent food, water, supplies and a medical volunteer to participate in Mision Rescate,  a collaborative relief effort to serve the refugee camp populations in central PAP that was set up two days after the earthquake in the National Police headquarters.

Water purification facilities installed: 3

Construction & Tool Kits: Funds were invested in demolition/construction tool kits to empower the Haitian churches to organize and equip work groups to help vulnerable families clean up destroyed houses and churches. Funds also went towards temporary aluminum and vinyl housing structures, ropes, plastic tarps, and other shelter materials to prepare for the upcoming rainy season.

Medical Outreach with Rush University Medical Center: Over 4,300 people were served in the communities of Diquini, Leogan, Croix-des-Bouquets, Carrefour, Port-Au-Prince (General Hospital), Carrefour, Mision Rescate (P-a-P).

Going Forward- Stage Two:

The local churches have let us know that recovery efforts must look towards simple, sustainable food production for the communities in need. All remaining funds (approx. $87,556) given for Haiti are now set aside for local church-led initiatives that focus on helping families and communities get back on their feet.

We are planning on investing in 200 families served by a network church animal husbandry initiative promoting rabbit raising.  This project will equip these families with the skills to raise their own food and provide an important food source.

We are working with the churches in the emerging RdC Haiti network and carefully assessing the capacity issues and logistics of the stage two proposals that are coming in before making the investments.  Working in Haiti is complex and we want to work hard to make sure the funds are a source of help and hope and empowerment rather than a potential danger and detriment to their on going efforts. Stay tuned for more information and updates!
