Why Does DCC Matter?
In a world marked by disparity, struggle, and separation, the possibility exists as never before in history, to connect in ways that give witness to the unity, interdependence, and abundant life that God designed for the Body of Christ. For DCC, the “why” of mission rests in the truth that God exists in relationship. Through Christ, God reconciles and restores us to Himself enabling us to respond to His invitation to engage in the reconciliation and restoration of all things.
When we agree that we do not have a mission, but rather that “God’s mission has us,” we can come together before God to seek His will in a very different way.
The “how” of mission then stems from the very essence of the nature of God, who exists in community. It is through this relational model for mission, which we call “Just Relationships,” that God makes all things new.
DCC helps the beautiful and diverse global Body of Christ navigate this relational connectedness in ways that deepen our love for one another, multiply fruit for the common good, and produce more sustainable results.
Why Should I Care?
As followers of Jesus, we are to be of one mind and one Spirit—reflecting a pure model of life together in community made possible through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. We are to live together in such a way that our lives and ministries reflect the oneness Jesus prayed for in John 17.
Ultimately, the fruit born out of how we live in relationship with one another creates life-giving transformation and restored wholeness within our communities and within our world.
